The problem: AI agents without tool access are useless
You have tried Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot in your company. Impressive — but at some point the model needs to access real data: your CRM, your ERP, your accounting, your HR system. That is exactly where the fun ends:
- AI agents without tool access remain a chat toy. As long as the model cannot do anything in real systems, it is a better notepad — not a productive component.
- Zapier and Make are too shallow for serious use cases. No-code workflows handle simple trigger-action setups, but not context-rich agent logic. At the latest with permissions, data field mapping and logging, you hit limits — we describe this in detail in n8n vs Make vs Zapier.
- US hosting is not an option for many German mid-sized companies. Tax advisors, law firms, healthcare providers, mid-sized companies with a works council — they need EU data residency and a DPA, not “servers in Virginia”.
This is exactly where MCP comes in — and exactly where we come in.
The solution: MCP servers that open your systems to AI
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the open standard that Anthropic published in late 2024 and that Google (Gemini), OpenAI (GPT), Microsoft (Copilot) and all serious AI providers have since adopted. What we do as an MCP integration agency: we build MCP servers that make exactly the functions of your systems available to your AI agents — and only those.
In concrete terms:
- Analysis: Which systems? Which use cases? Which permission models? Which data classes?
- Architecture: MCP server on an EU host, OAuth/token management, tool definitions, permission layer, logging.
- Build: We develop the MCP server, integrate it with the AI model of your choice and test with the business department.
- Operations: We can run the server for you — or your internal team takes over. Both work.
The result: an AI agent that works productively in your CRM, ERP, HR system or accounting tool — controlled, GDPR-ready, with a clear audit trail. More on the concept in our fundamentals article What is an MCP server? and in the technical MCP protocol guide.
In one sentence: We are the German agency that gets AI agents to really talk to your systems — GDPR-ready, EU-hosted.
Tools we build MCP servers for
Five stacks form our technical focus — they cover the most common requests from the DACH mid-sized sector and professional-services firms. MCP servers can also be built for many other systems — just ask.
Which companies is an MCP integration relevant for?
An MCP integration pays off wherever structured data sits in systems that employees currently click through manually. The typical industries we work with:
- Tax advisors & firms — DATEV, Lexoffice, client communication, explanations of management accounts (BWA).
- E-commerce — shop systems (Shopify, WooCommerce), ERP, marketing tools, service tickets.
- Real estate — agent software (Propstack, onOffice, FlowFact), portals, CRM sync.
- Staffing agencies — Personio, Talention, multiposting, applicant workflows.
- Lawyers — case file management, client CRM, follow-up reminders.
- Consultancies & agencies — Lexoffice, Pipedrive/HubSpot, project tools.
The rule of thumb: if at least three employees regularly follow the same click paths in a system, it is worth taking a look at MCP.
Our process model — four phases, fixed framework
- 1. Analysis We sit down with your business departments, look at your systems and identify the use cases with the greatest leverage. Result: a clear roadmap, three prioritised use cases, an effort estimate per use case.
- 2. Architecture We define the MCP server architecture, hosting, OAuth/token strategy, permission model and tool inventory. Result: a technical concept that compliance and IT can sign off.
- 3. Build (per use case) MCP server setup, tool implementation, tests with the business department, training. We build iteratively: the most important use case goes live first, then the next — no six-month big-bang projects without interim benefit.
- 4. Operations & scaling (ongoing) Monitoring, extensions, new use cases, migration to newer AI models without a rebuild. Optionally as a managed service or with your internal team.
Why Workflow Agentur

Frequently asked questions
How does an MCP integration agency differ from an ordinary automation agency?
Classic automation works with fixed, predefined workflows (Zapier, Make). An MCP integration agency builds the bridge between AI models and business systems — the agent decides, depending on context, which tool to use. That is far more flexible, but also more demanding in terms of security and permission architecture.
Which systems can you connect?
Focus: DATEV, Lexoffice, SAP S/4HANA, Personio, HubSpot, Pipedrive. We also build MCP servers for Shopify, WooCommerce, Propstack, onOffice, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, databases (SQL/Postgres/MongoDB), internal APIs and many other systems.
How quickly can a first MCP project go live?
That depends mainly on how clearly the first use case is defined. We set the timeline after the AI Check. After that, we expand in one- to two-week sprints.
Roughly what does an MCP integration cost?
The range depends on the system and complexity: every project is priced individually, and we give concrete prices after the initial conversation. Cost drivers are the system, complexity and security requirements.
Do we have to commit to one AI model?
No. MCP is standardised. You can use Claude today and add GPT or Gemini tomorrow — the MCP server stays the same.
How does this work with GDPR and EU hosting?
We host MCP servers exclusively in the EU (Hetzner, the Azure Germany West Central region, IONOS). We use AI providers with EU data residency (Claude via AWS Bedrock EU, Azure OpenAI in an EU region, OpenAI Enterprise EU) and conclude DPAs with everyone involved.
What about the works council?
For HR-related topics we recommend involving the works council early. We provide templates for information and co-determination that are sufficient in most organisations.
Can we run the MCP server ourselves?
Yes. We build the MCP server and hand it over — or we run it as a managed service. Both models are available.
What happens to our data?
It leaves your EU infrastructure only in the form of the specific request to the AI model — and only the fields the tool call allows. No bulk exports, no training-data leak, clear logging.
